Hey All,

So I’m off to do the Colorado Trail Race. I’ll be leaving for Denver tomorrow and the race will begin at 6:30am on Monday Aug 2nd. This will most likely be the hardest thing I have done on a bike, my goal is to be steady and finish as I will have no idea what’s around the next corner. I have no idea what to expect in regards to fitness or gear, hopefully I have done my homework and at least come close. An adventure it will certainly be!

Judging by the trail data book for the trail, there will be some monster riding, think 4500′ of climbing in 11 miles at 12,000+’elevation!  I hope to finish somewhere between 5-6 days, 85-90 miles and about 12,000′ of climbing per day with likely some shorter and longer days. I’ll be riding somewhere around 16 hours a day.

The race will be tracked by the website below, I have no idea how it works and hopefully I have done my part to make my SPOT show up.

The shared page for my SPOT is: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0gXdcH3fea4u8a6F52bUOrPRPRkmIL1fk

If you want info. on the race you can go here: http://www.climbingdreams.net/ctr/

The weather looks spotty, showers likely next week with the normal thunderstorms to go with it.

Wish me luck….

Sean
