Event Location and Logistics

Boggs Mountain Demonstration Forest is located 8 miles NW of Middletown in Lake County, California. It sits approximately fifty miles inland from the Pacific shoreline and 75 air miles north of San Francisco. The community of Cobb is located a mile south of BMDSF; Lakeport, the Lake County Seat, is 30 miles to the northwest. State Highway 175 cuts through the southwestern edge of the Forest. Here is a map of the forest (Bogg Forest PDF Map).

LIGHTS: Need lights, no worries! Light & Motion will be there to support you with a full line of high-performance LED rental lights, a fully staffed charging station, and good spirits to cheer you on through the night! The best setup for 24 hour racing is a binding bar-mounted system accompanied by a feather-weight helmet system. We will be renting three of the Seca Series, the 900s, 700s and 400s and the feather-weight Stella 200. All systems can be mounted either on the bar or the helmet and come with a rechargeable li-ion battery. For more information about our light systems check us out on the web: www.bikelights.com

Rental rates for the Bogg’s 24: Seca 900 - $60, Seca 700 and Stella 200 - $40. We will also have batteries for rent: 9-cell batteries - $25, 6-cell - $20, and 3-cell - $15. There will be 25+ lights on hand and we will rent them on a “first come, first serve” basis, cash only. Lights will be distributed Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. See you there!

Friday night we well have “TV Night Under The Stars”. We will be showing “24 solo”, “Klunkerz”, and “The Story of Magoo”. A documentary on Danny “Magoo” Chandler. Danny was a friend who passed away a few months back. In the late 70’s and early 80’s Danny was the top MX racer in the world until a bad crash in France broke his neck, left him a quadriplegic and ended his career. This is a great story, one you don’t want to miss.

Showers?: We are trying very hard to have hot showers for racers this year. We will keep this updated as information changes. It’s looking very good as of 6.25.2010!

Race Check-in:

Mandatory racer check-in on Friday July 17, 2010 5:00AM-8:00PM or Saturday July 18, 2010 8:00AM-10:30AM.

BEER!: Free beer will be available for racers thanks to Santa Cruz Ale Works! http://www.santacruzaleworks.com/

Lodging:

There are no condos, cabins or hotels at the Boggs race site. It is camping only. But in Cobb, no more than a couple miles away, there is a motel, cottages, restaurants, groceries, liquor and gas. Camping will be handled on a first come, first served basis. You can start setting up July 17th (Friday) at 12:00 noon. Bring wood for fires, there are fire rings. (however, this is subject to change within the park area if fire danger is high) Please remember that Boggs is a remote area so you will need to bring everything you will need. There will be toilets on site and trailers are welcome.
